This is Captain Dorego, the first track released from our debut EP Rabbits (out March 26th). Captain Dorego is about feeling overwhelmed; it's about dreaming, really, of something simpler, but not really knowing what that 'something' is.
I'll be the old man out at sea
Still and silent finally
Something dreamed up where I'll be
catching fish to set them free...
Carp fishing maybe bass
Out of the stream ourselves at last
As idyllic as it seems
I don't know what idyllic means
Let's play house
a couple of acres, pigs and cows
Rabbits George! And no elsewhere
No tomorrow, when we're there
I'll make you tea...
Can't you see..
that this busy life was not cut out for
someone like me
Can I cut the wood
Can I stoke the fire
Can I sing in the small church choir
Fill it up with gasoline
Light a match and wait
for you to scream...
Hitch hike down route 66
Kill the driver just for kicks
Smash and crush and grind my phone
I'll walk into the wild alone
Meeting strangers every night
for sharing beds and bloody fights
Kiss me George! so I can feel
Hit me so I know it's real
That there's a land for me
A life that I'm supposed to lead
Something dreamed up where I'll be
catching fish to set them free...
I'll make you tea...
Can't you see..
that this busy life was not cut out for
someone like me
I'll be the old man out at sea
Still and silent finally
Something dreamed up where I'll be
catching fish to set them free

A lovely album from start to finish. So good I bought it twice ( first digitally , then on CD ) . Immediately before writing this little blurb I also got the t-shirt. Standout song writing and a beautifully resonant voice. Poormonger
Like winter branches lined with snow and ice, Sam Ray (Ricky Eat Acid, Teen Suicide)'s latest is delicate, spare, melancholy, and beautiful. Bandcamp New & Notable Jan 3, 2018
So good, it takes me every time i hear it... to hear it live in Leeds, was brilliant. Such a wonderfully put together song... one of my favourites magicmarker28
